To check black marketing of gas cylinders, gas agencies have been directed to ensure that the gas suppliers done a particular uniform while on duty. The decision has been announced a few days after the district food and civil supply officer Vipin Kumar met the gas agency operators. The move has been hailed by the common people as a positive one. They say that with Diwali approaching, the chances of the gas cylinders being sold in the black are high.
Kumar said that the Government officials would be deployed to check things randomly at the gas agencies and action would be taken against those who fail to act on the directive. “Besides, the gas agencies should conduct police verification of the gas suppliers as per the direction of the police brass,” he said. All India lPG Federation Uttarakhand circle president Chamanlal said that no written instruction has been received from the department concerned so far.
