The tendency of the district level officers of different departments to skip block Kshetra panchayat meetings has irked the members of the many Kshetra Panchayats in Garhwal region and those from blocks from Pauri district. Although Pauri district magistrate Chandra Sekhar Bhatt has strictly instructed the district level officers to be present personally during the Kshetra panchayat meetings things are far from satisfactory. To make things easier, the DM has made roaster of the meetings of all the 15 block Kshetra Panchayats for the year 2015-16 and 2016-17 under the Kshetra Panchayat Act and Zila Panchayat Act. Bhatt said under special circumstances, the dates of the roaster can be amended in consultation with the block pramukh by the block development officers concerned. The BDOs of all the blocks have been instructed to inform the members of Kshetra Panchayat regarding the agenda of the meeting at least 15 days ahead of the meeting.
