Under the aegis of National Mission for Clean Ganga launched by the Union Ministry of water resources and river development and Ganga rejuvenation, the fortnight- long Ganga cleanliness programme would conclude on March 31 at Malviya Ghat near Har-ki-Pauri. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is expected to attend the concluding programme along with other Ministers and the senior Central and State Government officials.
While addressing a review meeting on Wednesday, the district magistrate SA Murugeshan directed all the officials to make necessary arrangements for the programme. Earlier, the team of district officials led by DM inspected the site of the programme.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Murgeshan said, "Elaborate arrangements are being made for the programme to be held to mark the conclusion of the pakhwara. Cultural programmes and exhibitions on Ganga would also be hosted on the occasion. We have directed the officials to make arrangements like tent and barricades.”
