Gadarpur MlA Arvind Pandey, who had secured bail from the court on Thursday, was released from Haldwani jail at around 5 pm on Saturday.
large number of Pandey’s supporters had reached outside the jail campus to welcome him. They raised slogans in the favour of Pandey when he came out from the jail. Haldwani Jail Superintendent TD Joshi said that MlA Pandey was released after receiving court’s bail order on Saturday. In connection with the assault case involving Naib Tehsildar Sher Singh, he was sent to jail and he had secured bail on October 16.
He was not released from the jail on September 10 because court had sent Pandey to jail in connection with three previous criminal cases (FIR numbers-235/13, 315/13 and 198/14) registered against him in Bazpur police station and court had not granted him bail in these cases.
