Fourth class employees continue agitation

The fourth class employees who have been staging office work boycott for about a week, continued their agitation even on Thursday, accusing the State Government of ignoring their long pending demands.

As the State Government has so far done nothing to address our concern, so we have decided to organise a rally in the State capital Dehraudun on Friday to press for our six point demands including pay scale as per the Central services and a raise in grade pay, said the agitating employees.

Since the State Government has failed so far to listen to our long pending demands, therefore we have now decided to organise 'maha rally' in Dehradun on Friday, asserted Prakash Bhakuni, Haldwani unit chief of the Uttarakhand fourth class employees union.

In case the State Government continues to ignore our concerns, we will be compelled to intensify our agitation from March 23. We will be going on indefinite strike from Saturday, he added.
