The four-day Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam limited (UJVNl) workshop on ‘performance management system’ for its officers was concluded in Dehradun on Thursday.  This workshop was jointly organized by UJVNl and Rapid learning System, Kolkata.

During training, resource person Ajay Aggarwal trained the participants about target fixation and annual evaluation in details. Around 150 technical and non- technical UPCl officers (ranked from executive engineer to executive director) attended the workshop. Notably, the corporation has already implemented objective- based performance appraisal system for the officers. Under the same system, the officers were given amended format and marks for evaluation of annual works.

According to  a UJVNl official, before implementing this objective based performance appraisal system, the broad level discussions were held among the officers. A system for annual evaluation was drafted incorporating officers’ performance, individual contribution, training and others. Through this system, works of the officers would be monitored from time to time.

He said that the objective of this workshop was to educate the officers about this system.

During programme, UJVNl company secretary Arun Sabharwal and deputy general managers DK Garg and Vivek Aatreya highlighted various aspects of this system in details. Director (HR) Dr Avinash Chandra Joshi highlighted the work system and said that the new system would help the corporation achieve its target effectively. Director (projects) Sandeep Singhal said that the target- based annual evaluation would help in completing new projects before the fixed time and would help in making the state an energy surplus state.
