Chairman of 14th Finance Commission Dr YV Reddy (former Governor of RBI) along with his 12 members including Prof Abhijit Sen, Sushma Nath, Dr Govinda Rao and Dr Sudipto Mundle are coming on two days long tour in between Februay 11-12 to Uttarakhand.
They would have interaction with Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Cabinet Ministers and senior officers of the State Government. Cabinet would present proposal so that 14th commission would allocate fund to meet out the State needs, which had increased after disaster. On February 12, they would have interaction with industry and traders representatives, urban local bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions elected representatives and accredited political parties as well. The Union Government constitute finance commission under Article 280. The commission is suppose to give its recommendation to the Central Government about how much share should be given to the State from the central tax.
