Cops have started investigation into the mysterious death of a promising footballer Monika Chaudhary after the written complaint by the her paternal uncle and others . They said it was a case of murder and not of suicide. They alleged that she had been murdered by her mother along with a distant relative. The Kotdwar police in-charge Pramod Shah said that after the investigation ends, a case will be registered.
The case revived after several relations along with the villagers from Harisinghpur reached Kotdwar police station on Thursday and met the in-charge. They insisted a promising player like her could not have committed suicide. Monika was puzzled with what her mother was doing with a distant relative. She recounted her feelings to others a few days before she died, relatives of the deceased said at the police station. Sources said the body was cremated without informing the police.
