PNS

A five- day long programme workshop on ‘Marketing and Supply Chain Management’ began at the campus of the IIM Kashipur on Monday. As many as 22 participants from across India and abroad took part in the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Gautam Sinha, Director of IIM Kashipur, said learning in the 21st century was different altogether. It had drastically moved from Subject-oriented to Human Quality evoking skills, innovation, and grip. The requirement of structured knowledge had gone down drastically, igniting a sense of curiosity which further necessitates interaction.

Much of our learning was drawn upon this interaction and experience sharing, he said.  In his speech, Somnath Ghosh, Dean of Academics of the Institute, said there wan nothing in theory that could not be put into practice. We must question ourselves as to what is in practice that has not been theorised so far, he further said. AR Nanda, vice-president, HR, of Tata Chemicals limited (TCl), hoped that this would be a good learning intervention in which several challenges would be converted into opportunities. “TCl supports upcoming institutions rather than the ones already established”, he said.
