Acting on a tip off, the excise department raided a home being used to operate an illicit liquor plant in Kaladhungi. The officials seized 52 crates of illegal liquor from the location.
The excise department inspector Sonu Singh informed that a joint team comprising officials of the excise department and divisional enforcement team raided a home late on Wednesday night at Chakluva in Kaladhungi Tehsil. The raid exposed an illicit liquor operation being undertaken at the location. The joint team seized 52 crates of spurious liquor, holograms of nine country liquor brands, a large number of bottle caps and equipment and contents for manufacturing liquor.
The department inspector further informed that the value of the seized illegal liquor is estimated to be about Rs 1,81,000. No persons was apprehended from the building during the raid, added Singh.
The excise department has lodged a case against unknown persons under the Excise Act. The case is now being investigated, added the official.
