Ex-CM Nishank vows to take up sting operation issue with Centre

Rajendra S Markuna

With the State BJP sharpening its attack on the Congress-led State Government on   each passing day , former Chief Minister and MP from Haridwar Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank here on Sunday asserted that the BJP would take up the issue with Centre if  the State Congress Government fails to order a CBI inquiry into the alleged sting operation in which Chief Minister’s secretary Mohammed Shahid was shown striking a deal with private liquor players.

We have already taken up the matter with the Governor and now we would also meet the Prime Minister and President of India in case the State Congress Government fails to order a CBI inquiry into the alleged sting operation in which Chief Minister’s secretary Mohammed Shahid was shown striking a deal with private liquor players.

The Congress led Harish Rawat Government has failed on all fronts. More so, the corruption charges that are surfacing one after another have only exposed the State Government’s failure to check irregularities  in public life.

We have been raising the charges of irregularities or corruptions  on the basis of facts. But the Congress led State Government seems to have only compromised with corruption.

Earlier it was disaster scam and now the sting operation on liquor. Such cases have definitely come as a cause of concern. More importantly, no action by the State Government in such cases, is quite concerning and disappointing. How can we expect better in terms of development for the people of the hill state from this Government which is not serious to strongly deal with corruption, regretted Nishank.

But we would definitely raise this issue in parliament also apart from taking up the matter with the Prime Minister and President of, asserted Nishank.

The BJP would not sit idle on these  issues. We would take up the matter with the people to expose the failure of the State Government, he added.
