On the issue of evening classes, the student union of DAV College waved black flags at Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Tuesday when he was attending a programe at DAV Inter College.
The students had gathered at the college campus even though the college administration has declared winter vacations. The administration was expecting the protest of the students as heavy Police bandobast was done around the campus of DAV College. The president of the DAV college student union Paras Goyal said that the State Government is not serious on the issue of evening classes due to which the fate of thousands of the students is in jeopardy. He said that the College management is not interested to start the evening classes and the State Government is also not doing anything to put pressure on the college Management. Goyal said that if the issue is not solved soon the students would be forced to launch massive agitation against the college management and State Government.
The issue of delay in the evening classes is simmering in the students of the biggest college of the State for last many days. On December 16 six students belonging to different student unions had scaled two mobile towers of State capital. These students descended only after the CM Rawat assured that he would discuss the issue with the College Management. However, the Kanpur based college management has not sent any of its representatives yet to the State capital to discuss the issue with the State Government or the agitating students.
