Uttarakhand Governor Krishan Kant Paul directed the officials concerned to ensure necessary action by THDC to mitigate land loss and erosion at the Nihal Nala near the Raj Bhawan in Nainital.
Addressing officials concerned at a meeting, the Governor said that the required work should be done before the advent of monsoon season with the State administration having approved a sum of about Rs 1.9 crore for the task.
Considering its expertise in undertaking such works, the THDC has been given this task. The Nihal Nala passing from a corner of the Raj Bhawan golf course, Bhandari pavilion has been experiencing land loss and erosion during the rainy season. The Governor’s secretary Arun Dhaundiyal, Nainital district magistrate Deepak Rawat, Public Works Department chief engineer, THDC and Forest Department officials concerned were also among those present in the meeting.
