The Joint Forum of the State Government employees called off its agitation and withdrew work boycott call on Wednesday after a meeting of the office-bearers of the forum at the district Panchayat.
After a long brainstorming session marked by views and counterviews, the forum finally decided to come off the high horse and asked the agitating employees to go back to work.
It is learnt that the minutes of the meeting held between the forum leaders and the cabinet minister Prakash Pant on Monday were elaborately discussed by the leaders of different unions and associations on the day.
The leaders pointed out that many points which are mentioned in the official document are not in sync with what transpired during the meeting with the minister.
The president of the forum, Thakur Prahlad Singh assured the employees’ leaders that he would meet Prakash Pant again and raise the relevant issues not covered in the official minutes of the meeting.
He further said that the forum would strive to ensure that the necessary Government Order (GO) for the demands of the employees is released at the earliest.
