Questioning the decision of the State Government to take punitive action on such employees who forgo promotion, the Rajya Karmchari Sanyukt Parishad (RKSP) has said that the promotions of the employees should take place at regular intervals. The office bearers of the RKSP held an online meeting on Saturday and discussed the decision and its ramifications. The officiating general secretary of the association, Arun Pandey said that in the meeting the office bearers expressed their resentment on the fact the state government is taking decisions on a regular basis that are negative for the employees. He said that association is of the view that if the promotions of employees occur on time as is the case with the officers of IAS and PCS officers then no employee would ever forgo his or her promotion.
The state government employee is forced to forgo his promotion if the promotion is given after more than 20 years of service. In such a case, he forgoes the promotion due to lack of any financial benefit and posting at the place where better health and other facilities are available to him.
The association also discussed the order of the Chief Minister that all employees should compulsorily disclose their income and property in detail and expressed reservation on certain practical aspects of the order.
