Alleging undue harassment by officials of the Medical Health department, electro homoeopathy practitioners protested at the office of Chief Medical Officer on Tuesday.
Addressing the protestors, Dr KPS Chauhan said that the department has taken action of seizure of clinics despite repeated pleas to the health minister and senior health department officials that the Electro homeopathy doctors are not covered under the Medical Council of India and the Clinical Establishment act also is not applicable on them. He said that these doctors are practicing under Government orders of the Central Health and Family welfare ministry and Uttarakhand Government. The Former Chairperson of state Commission for Women Sushila Baluni said that the health Minister S S Negi should not let him guided by the department officials and use his wisdom for the benefit of the doctors and the people of the state. She demanded that the Government should ensure implementation of its GO which allows the electro homeopathy doctors to practice.
