District Magistrate Chandra Sekhar Bhatt said that the election of the District Planning Committee of Pauri district will be held on October 31. The District Planning Committee of the district consists of 18 members, out of which 15 will be elected by the elected Zila Panchayat members and three from the local bodies of the district.
Bhatt said that the nomination papers can be submitted to the District Magistrate in Vikash Bhawan at district headquarter Pauri on 27 and 28 October. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on 29 October from 10 am onwards.
The nomination can be withdrawn on 30 October from 11 am to 3 pm. If there is a need of election the voting will commence from 8 am and would continue till 3 pm in room number 01, 02, 03 and 04. The same day counting of votes will start from 3.30 pm. The candidates can collect the nomination papers from Election Officer’s office on 27 and 28 October.
It is pertinent to mention that D.P.C is the important body in the district. Development works of the different departments are approved following the official nods from it.
Due to the delayed three- tier Panchayat election, the D.P.C could not have been constituted earlier. And due to the delay, development in the district has remained stuck, it is learnt.
