Edu dept tough on monthly tests

PNS

Taking a stern note of some schools not holding monthly tests regularly, the education department threatened action against the officials concerned.

In a letter directed to primary and secondary education directors, the Director General (DG) school education Captain Alok Shekhar Tiwari said that action would be initiated against the school principals and block and district level officers if these examinations are not held on a monthly basis in the schools located under their jurisdiction.

The system of regular monthly tests has started from this session with an objective of increasing quality of education and helping the students understand and learn what is taught to them.

In the letter, the DG has also ordered that the best teachers at the district level should be selected and rewarded.
