After the end of counseling sessions of teachers for their transfers, the education department is giving final touches to the list of mandatory transfers. The education department is working for the transfers of the teachers under the new transfer policy. To ensure transparency in the transfers — which had always been a contentious issue — the department released a list of the teachers who according to it were eligible for transfers under the new policy and uploaded it on the department’s website. The eligible teachers were called for districtwise counseling process which ended on Monday.
On Tuesday the senior officer of the education department began the exercise of scrutiny of the list submitted by the districts. It is learnt that the department would take some days to complete the scrutiny to minimize the chances of irregularities before releasing the final list. The department released the promotion list of 201 lecturers and lecturer teachers (lT) who were promoted to the cadre of Principals on Monday. The education director R K KUnwar said that these teachers are asked to join their new assignments within next fifteen days.
