'DVWM flouting pact with MCD'

PNS

Mukhya Nagar Adhikari, Ashok Kumar at Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) claimed that the officials of the Doon Valley Waste Management (DVWM) are functioning in violation of the conditions of the MoU signed with MCD leading to the deteriorating sanitation level of the city.

Kumar stated that DVWM was functioning comparatively better earlier when its responsibility was limited to mere 30 wards in the initial stage. But later on when in view of the consistent demands of the DVWM, their responsibility was extended to 60 wards it resulted into the worsening sanitation level of the town.

Further he said that the company is also not following the MoU norms and now wants to move back from the maintenance and construction responsibility of the trenching ground. As per Kumar, DVWM officials have said that the MCD should take the construction responsibility of the trenching ground. Kumar further said that this is against the conditions of the MoU and DVWM is the responsible authority for the all kind of construction work of the trenching ground which the company is denying now.

Kumar added that MCD has also asked for a detailed report from the company officials in respect to the points followed by them as per the conditions of the MoU. He said that DVWM was also against the penalty being imposed on them by the MCD officials due to their improper way of functioning. He said that the MCD had imposed the penalty as per the condition mentioned in the MoU. Contrary to this, the company CEO, Siddharth Jain claimed that they are working as per the agreement but are not getting any support from the MCD officials.
