The same weather is likely  to prevail in Kumaon and Garhwal regions on the day, the Met officers  had said. The state Met centre had also given a yellow alert of heavy snowfall which is likely to occur at isolated places in  the higher reaches located at 3000 meter and above like Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on February 6. The department had issued advisory to the state government, asking the latter to take measures to ensure safety of the commuters.
