Setting up an example, Dr G S Jangpangi who retired as the chief medical officer (CMO) of Nainital from the State Health Services would give his services as anesthetist free of cost to the GDMC Hospital. Dr Jangpangi started his honorary services in the biggest hospital of the State from Friday. He said that when he realised that the operations in the hospital are being hampered by shortage of anesthetists he decided to render his services to the hospital. Appreciating the selfless service offered by Dr Jangpangi, the medical superintendent (MS) of the GDMC Hospital Dr K K Tamta said while talking to The Pioneer that operations in orthopedics and surgery departments were carried on the Friday with Dr Jangpangi’s help as anesthetist.
