The administration of Doon University has assured the agitating students that in the new academic session the students union in the university would be set up as per the provisions of the recommendations of the lyngdoh committee.
The university has also appealed to the students not to interfere in the normal process of the university and help in making the university a centre of excellence. In a statement the University has said that the rules of discipline made by the proctoral board would be brought before the executive council in its meeting. The meeting would be held before the commencement of new session.
The students of the university are on path of agitation for quite some time. The students are demanding that the university should take back the rule which prohibits protests.
