Dehradun district magistrate BVRC Purushottam reached a compromise with the protesting Collectorate employees and assured reinstatement of suspended senior clerk Satte Singh within a week. The DM had earlier suspended Singh for providing information about Court's order very late. With the DM's assurance, the Collectorate employees called off their indefinite strike on Tuesday soon after starting it.
Earlier in the day, opposing suspension of senior clear Satte Singh by Purushottam, the Collectorate employees boycotted the work at Tehsil and Collectorate. The protesters demanded reinstatement of the suspended senior clerk without delay failing which they threatened to continue their indefinite strike. The work boycott hampered works related to making of income certificate, gun license, caste certificate, character certificate and other tasks. large number of Doon residents reached the collectorte but retuned empty handed.
later, the DM called a meeting with representatives of Collectorate employees and asked them to call off their strike with the assurance of addressing their demand within a week.
