Dehradun District Magistrate Ravinath Raman along with Uttarakhand Rajya Nirman Aandolankari Samman Parishad (URNASP) vice-chariman Dhirendra Pratap presided over a meeting over identification of Statehood activists at Collectorate on Thursday.

The identification of statehood activists, who have been left so far would be done under Government order. As per Government order, paper cutting highlighting name of Statehood activists is not the ground to give the status of statehood activists, he added.

Vice-chairman of the Uttarakhand Rajya Nirman Andolankari Samman Parishad Dheerandra Pratap said that the district administration would provide identity card within a month to those statehood activists who have not received so far.

In order to make paper cutting -highlighting name of andolankari, the ground for the identification of statehood activists, he would pursue this issue before the chief minister and request him to make some amendment in the existing government order (GO). Application on the identification of Andolankari, which were received till February 2012 at district office, would be discussed for giving them status of Statehood activists.

He welcomed CM’s decision on providing reservation in Government jobs for the Statehood activists. CM Rawat has always favour the welfare of the statehood activists. Uttarakhand Rajya Nirman Andolankari Samman Parishad had earlier proposed 14 names of Andolankari for Dehradun district and out of which 10 are to be nominated by the State Government. The district administration has already sent such names to the state administration.
