Dehradun District Magistrate S A Murugesan and senior superintendent of police Nivedita Kukreti conducted physical inspection of Parade Ground and took stock of the preparation of the Republic Day celebration on Wednesday.
Notably, the principal function would be held at Parade Ground on Friday where Governor K K Paul would unfurl the tri-colour. DM said that 11 tableaus of different departments like health, education, tourism, swajal, Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA), state disaster relief force (SDRF), Udhog, Horticulture, rural development, MDDA and forest would be displayed during the Republic Day celebrations. He inspected the display of the tableaus and asked all concerned to complete things at the earliest.
The tableaus are important as they would make the people aware of the government schemes meant for their welfare, he added. And this is just the need of the hour keeping everything in mind.
