In order to redress public concerns effectively, Dehradun District Magistrate SA Murugesan has directed all the department officers to open Twitter accounts. The people registering their complaints through tweeter accounts will see their grievances addressed by the department officials at the earliest, he assured while interacting with the people during the public hearing held in Dehradun on Monday.
In all, 33 complaints have been received from the common people during the public hearing- started by the DM Murugesan. Such hearings are being held every Monday since November 20 on the direction of the DM. Complaints received on the day related to revenue, Municipal Corporation, MDDA, Jal Sansthan, Jal Nigam, Swajal department and police.
DM heard out the grievances of the people and directed the department officers to address their concerns at the earliest. He, however, sounded disappointed with the department officials who are yet to open tweeter accounts despite his directive. He said if they have Tweeter accounts, their problems will be addressed hard and fast.
During the public hearing, DM reviewed several schemes with the government department officers.
The meeting revealed that only five departments have so far opened their tweeter accounts. The department officials who are yet to act on the DM’s directive have been strictly directed to open their departmental tweeter accounts at the earliest failing which action would be taken against the errant officials. DM said that one tweeter account would be opened if the department has several branches. The senior officers would inform their sub-ordinates of the branch concerned through email or what’s app and the branch officers would take steps to redress the people’s complaints.
Among those present at the public hearing were joint magistrate Anuradha Pal, chief development officer GS Rawat, additional DM Arvind Pandey, sub-divisional magistrate Sadar Pratyush Singh and district development officer Pradeep Pandey.
