Business Management Chronic, Pan India Engineering Survey has categorised DITU as A++, making it the only university in Uttarakhand with this ranking. In a survey of 10 engineering colleges across the country, DITU was ranked third in terms of faculty and ranked fifth in terms of academics.

He further said that around 40 per cent students are provided with hostel facility within the university campus and university officers help the remaining students to get hostel accommodation outside the campus.

These include structured lectures, English and foreign languages, seminars, workshops, case studies, hands on computer work, project assignment, role plays, business games, company visits, guest lectures and panel discussions.Studying at DIT is about gaining confidence as well as qualifications, employability as well as expertise, and inspiration as well as information.

Kumar further said, “At DITU, we have impressive linkages with industry, national industrial associations and other renowned organisations. Industrial tours and internships go a long-way in giving students a real feel of the industrial environment and appreciation of knowledge gained in classrooms and labs. Active association with professional bodies like ASSOCHAM, CII, FICCI and leading foreign universities have proven a real asset in ensuring meaningful orientation.

“The very nature of these partnerships enhances the way in which students gain knowledge and engage in activities. Wherever possible, we involve people from industry in students’ lectures, visits and work-based experiences so students will develop the most upto date skills needed in the workplace. Around 80 per cent students were recently placed in different well-know companies with attractive packages while around 70 students were selected in two-month pre-placement training in Computer Maintenance Corporation.”

“We don’t just impart education but augment it with real life skills employers are looking for. An integral part of all programmes is the specialisation software training by industry experts (120 hours spread over eight semesters). Compulsory soft skills and aptitude training by corporate trainers (120 hours spread over eight semesters) further helps polish the skills learnt by students. These efforts help students network with industry professionals and discover invaluable work experience opportunities,” he added.
