District police to issue advisory to all schools

PNS

The district police are soon going to issue a detailed advisory to all schools in Dehradun. Focusing on multiple aspects such as traffic management, drug abuse and other complaints of illegal activities inside the school premises, the advisory will be compiled by Dalanwala Circle Officer (CO) Jaya Baloni.

Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi said, “We had received several intelligence reports and complaints regarding illicit activities going on in some of the schools in the district, especially boarding schools are our concern. Dehradun is known as the education hub and the children here shape the future of tomorrow.

In addition to that we will be focusing on the traffic issues of different schools and what can be done from our side and the school management side.” CO Baloni said, “The advisory will include traffic management issues, drugs related issues and the awareness programmes that are required to be conducted and issues such as suicides and molestation or even eve-teasing cases. The advisory will basically include steps that can be taken and the do’s and don’ts.”

It is pertinent to mention here that after putting in place a new traffic plan outside Saint Joseph’s Academy (SJA) school, the district traffic department is now going to devise new traffic plans for other major traffic congestion points.

This will include the roads outside Convent of Jesus and Mary school, where despite the efforts of traffic police traffic congestion has become a routine affair. In addition to that there will be focus on Sherwood School, The Heritage School, Hill Grange and Marshall School.
