The district plan outlay was approved at a meeting chaired by Minister in charge of Udham Singh Nagar district Mantri Prasad Naithani here on Monday.

Out of the proposed outlay of Rs55.65 crore, Rs15.28 crore has been proposed for strengthening of roads and bridges, Rs3.50 crore for irrigation and flood control, Rs2.65 crore for  tube-wells, Rs4 crore for smoothening drinking water services and Rs3 crore for Peyjal Nigam among some the sectors.

Approving the proposed district plan outlay, Naithani said that in order to proper implementation of the proposed schemes for the district, a monitoring committee will be set up at the district level.

This monitoring committee will review the progress of the approved and proposed  schemes in every three months so that correct measures could be taken to ensure timely and proper completion of the schemes.

Meanwhile, the Minister  asked the local  public representatives to submit proposals related to development of their respective areas  only after getting them(proposals) approved at the village panchayat or  area panchayat or district panchayat levels.

Only after following this laid down procedures, these development proposals will be included in the district plan, he clarified. At the same time, the minister strongly asked the officials of the Udham Singh Nagar district administration to carry out all these developmental activities taking the local  elected public representatives into confidence. Ignorance of the public representatives won’t be tolerated at any cost, he asserted.

The matter of fact is communication gap between the officials concerned and the local public representatives only hampers the

developmental works. That is why  it is vital on part of the officials concerned to ensure proper implementation of the developmental activities taking all along, maintained the Minister.

It is also to note that, as the officials concerned informed, taking a strong note of ignorance of local representatives on part of some officials, the minister was reported to have strongly dealt with such officials at this meeting today  warning them not to repeat such things in future.

All round development of the district is on the top of our priority list. That is why all should rise above the party politics for the development of the district and to fulfill the expectations of the people, the minister maintained.
