The Bageshwar district administration has been able to utilise only Rs25.32 crore out of Rs44.73 crore released to it under the district plan so far this financial year.Some of the departments which have been slow in spending the fund under the district plan include the district tourism department in Bageshwar.
The tourism department which plays a major role in creating job opportunities and boosting economic activities in this hill district, has been able to spend only about 25 per cent of the funds released to it under the district plan so far.
As the overall performance of the Bageshwar district administration has not been very impressive with a little more than 50 per cent of the funds being utilised so far this financial year, the district administration, Bageshwar has asked the officials concerned of the different departments to ensure cent percent utilisation of the funds released to them under the district plan on time. However, with the current financial year coming to its fag end, the Bageshwar district administration has asked the officials to expedite pace of ongoing development process so that the developmental projects could also be completed on time.
Mention worthy, the State Government had released the district plan fund to all the districts in single installment at an initial phase of this fiscal year instead of releasing the same amount in installments. The basic purpose of doing this was to ensure timely utilisaiton of the said district plan fund.
