Even after eight days of the incident, police is clueless about the reason behind the abduction case of a youth from the village Dhanderi, a few kilometers away from the Military hospital of Roorkee.

The victim who is still under the trauma is unable to reveal the mishap, say the police. A further probe is needed says the investigating official to resolve the mystery.

Deepak, 26, an agriculturist by profession was abducted on November 7 while working at the fields in Dhanderi village. When he did not return till late night, the villagers searched him but in vain, following which his family members had lodged the complaint at the nearest police station.

The police had failed to trace the victim but on Saturday, the youth returned to his home on his own after deceiving the abductors. The family folks of Deepak took him to the police station where the probe ensued.

Narrating the incident, the victim alleged that a neighbourer had abducted him from the fields near his village with the help of five miscreants. “We interrogated the person named by the victim in his neighbourhood, but found no connection between the alleged individual and the victim. Prima facie it seems to be an issue of personal enmity between the two families which we are trying to figure out,” said Sub Inspector Roorkee Ajay Kumar.

The official further stated that the matter can be resolved only after the victim gains full health and is out of the traumatic experience. “We shall record the statement of the victim once he is out of shock, based on which the case would be lodged and stringent action taken against the miscreants.” added Ajay.
