Mussoorie police will not just have to beat the chill but they have to work additional hours of policing to let Mussoorie Winter line Carnival pass off peacefully. The carnival is scheduled to begin on December 25.
Following the deployment of police forces in Ardh Kumbh scheduled from January 1, next and on-going Kaliyar Mela in Haridwar, Mussoorie police would not get adequate consignment of the law- enforcers for the event.
Mussoorie police station in-charge inspector Kamlesh Namburi said that number of programmes has gone up this year as compared to previous years in the Winterline.
“But the consignment of the police forces to be deployed would be less than what we had in the previous years. A platoon of PAC jawans along with civil police, traffic police and home guards were deployed for this event last year while this year only one and half sections of PAC jawans and around half dozen traffic police will be deployed to complete the event”, he said.
In addition to this, two sub-inspectors, four head constables and six constables will be deployed, he mentioned, adding that they would have to manage things despite the constraints.
