The District Magistrate/ District Election Officer, Haridwar HC Semwal convened a meeting with the senior officials in the Collectorate auditorium regarding the by-election of 28 Bhagwanpur Assembly seat (reserved for Schedule Caste) slated on April 11. Semwal said that election is one of the very important parts of democracy and urged the all nodal and returning officers to perform duties honestly and sincerely.
He also instructed the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to have a prior check on all the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and must get them repaired, if required. He also instructed all the officials concerned to have a dual check on all the prior arrangements, including traffic arrangement, transportation, electricity, food and water supply.
He instructed the SDM Bhagwanpur to remove all the Government hoardings and banners displayed for publicity in the general public interest. CDO Ranjana, ADM Administration JS Nangyal, ADM Finace Rawneet Cheema, Joint Magistrate Mangesh Ghildiyal, Joint Magistrate Mayur Dixit, SP City Surjit Singh Panwar, SDM Haridwar Vir Singh Budhiyal, SDM Bhagwanpur Pratyush Singh, SDM Roorkee Mohd Nassir, DDO SS Sharma and Asst District Election Officer PV Budhlakoti were present in the meeting.
