The Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Engineering Project India limited (EPIl), SPS Bhakshi has assured the Governor of Uttarakhand, Dr KK Paul that pending work on Balliwala flyover would be completed by June 20 while Ballupur flyover would get completed by August 31 this year. He gave this assurance during a meeting with Governor at Raj Bhawan on Monday. Irked by long delay in these projects and the problem they are causing, the Governor of Uttarakhand had summoned the CMD of the company responsible for construction of these structures.
The Governor curtly told the CMD that the general public is facing numerous problems due to long delays in these projects and ordered that the work on them should be completed at a rapid pace. He added that no compromise with quality should be done in the construction of these structures.
It is pertinent to mention here that both these flyovers are running late by more than two years. In the meeting Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and Secretary to Governor, Arun Dhaundiyal, PWD secretary and other officers of Government and construction agency were present.
