The GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology is the best agriculture university in the country, claimed the newly-appointed Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university Dr Mangla Rai, while addressing students, faculty members and employees at Gandhi Hall of University on Tuesday. Sternly warning those pulling the prestigious university down the VC said that they should better leave the university.
Seeking forgiveness from the students as the university had failed to distribute degrees since 2010, he said that all the pending degrees would be distributed by April this year. He declared that a week-long programme would be organised every year in the month of November to commemorate the foundation day of the university. Dr Rai said that due to the efforts of the agricultural scientists hailing from the university the country is in a position to export rice. Similarly the meat, fruit and milk production has multiplied since independence.
