Deceased's mother, women group protest demanding fresh probe

PNS

Demanding a fresh inquiry into the death of around 22- year- old girl Priti Bambara on March 27 who had allegedly committed suicide in JP hotel in Mussoorie where  she was working in, the deceased’s mother along with other women protested at SSP office  in Dehradun on Monday.

They sought justice for the  unnatural death of the  girl while alleging that the  manager of  the hotel had provoked her to end life. They further said that after an employee of  the hotel had harassed her she had  decided to quit the hotel. But  the manager had prevailed   over her to stick in, they alleged, adding  that  this  was stopping her from shifting  to some  other  place as he refused  to provide  her with the experience certificate, a predicament that finally drove her to commit suicide, they  alleged.

Notably, the deceased’s father is a constable in the police department. She  had hanged herself with a noose tied to ceiling fan in  a room of the hotel, police said.

SSP Sadanand Date said that police had conducted an inquiry into the matter  earlier and found out  that she had committed suicide after her boy friend who is  an ex- employee of  the hotel, refused to marry her. Things had been cleared thanks to the  deceased’s mobile phone calls and what’s app messages, he said, adding that they would do another  probe in view  of the  dissatisfaction  of her family with the earlier inquiry.
