Under pressure from the student union the DBS college administration has extended the last date for submission of admission forms from June 30 to July 7.
On Thursday, large number of students led by president of student’s union Himanshu Kumar staged a protest in the college premises and demanded that the college should extend the date of form submission for the benefit of the students.
The students submitted a memorandum to the Principal of college O P Kulshrestha listing their demands. Student leaders also said that preference should be given to Uttarakhand board students in admissions.
The Principal accepted their major demand and extended the date till July 07, a day before the college is reopening after summer vacations. Former President of DBS college student’s union Ashish Johi said that the decision of college to extend the date of form submission is a good step as it would help large number of students from remote and mountainous parts of the State.
