Blaming police for working under political pressure and registering cases against student leaders, the DAV president has threatened agitation against police action. Goyal was addressing a Press conference here on Sunday.
In wake of the ensuing student union elections, police on Saturday imposed Section 110G of CRPC on some student leaders. This allows police to take appropriate action under Gunda act, against these students for involving in any act of violence within one year.
The DAV president accused the Police of acting in a partisan manner. He said that an atmosphere of peace and tranquility prevails in all the colleges of the state capital at present but the police action would deteriorate the academic environment. Goyal said that the state government is engaging in vindictive and selective police action. He said that the atrocity on the students would not be tolerated. The press conference was attended by Vice President Balam Singh, general secretary Jagbir Aswal and others.
