Haridwar police are still  struggling to find out the identities of the criminals who had allegedly  killed  a six- year- old girl after failing to rape her. The incident had happened  at Mohammadpur Kunhari village in laksar.   Haridwar SSP Krishna Kumar V K said that three teams have been formed to crack the case. A laksar based  police station officer said that around two dozen suspects have been questioned about the case.

Police sources said that the criminals had used bricks to kill her after she had resisted his attempt to rape her. It is learnt that the miscreants had taken her to an under- construction building of Angarwari centre, located outside her house, when she had come out to play.

Based on the complaint from the deceased’s parents, a case under section 302 of IPC had been registered against unidentified persons in the laksar police station on June 27.

Notably, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had directed Haridwar district magistrate Deepak Rawat and SSP to form a special investigation team (SIT) to identify and arrest the offenders at the earliest.
