PNS

The agitation of contractual workers of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) entered 103 day on Friday. Demanding extension of their contract the workers are camping at the agitation site near Parade Ground. The president of the association Gambhir Singh Bisht said the Government should accept the one point demand of the association. He reminded that State Education Minister Mantri Prasad Naithani had assured the members on April 20 that the demands of the association would be solved in one month’s time but nothing has happened even two months after the assurance.

It worth mentioning here that following the assurance of Minister, the fasting members of the association broke their hunger strike.Bisht said a recent Cabinet decision to open direct recruitment in the cadre of laboratory assistants was a blow for the job prospects of contractual workers under RMSA. He said the association would not accept the offer of 10-15 extra marks to contractual workers in the recruitment process. Bisht threatened to intensify agitation if their demand for reinstatement is not accepted soon.
