PNS

Pregnancy is a happy moment in the life of a woman but sometimes a problem-prone pregnancy can lead to an unfortunate miscarriage so medical attention during pregnancy is as important as a healthy diet and rest. Senior Gynecologist Dr Sujata Sanjay said this while addressing a Continuous Medical Education (CME) on Miscarriage. The CME was organised on the occasion of seventh anniversary of Sanjay Orthopedic, Spine and Maternity Centre on Sunday.

Dr Sujata said that a miscarriage is the loss of foetus which usually happens at the early stages of pregnancy. The first 20 weeks of pregnancy are crucial and most miscarriages happen at that time. She informed that almost 80 percent of all abortions occur before 12 weeks of pregnancy.

The chances of miscarriage increases with age.  Dr Sujata regretted that it is unfortunate that it is always woman, who is blamed for recurrent miscarriages. “ There is a need to create awareness that men are equally responsible for it due to various reasons like lifestyle, use of electronic gadgets etc,” She pointed out.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay gave information about women health related problems during pregnancy which commonly occurs due to lack of Calcium and get worsened by improper care of health.

Administrator of the hospital Dr Pratik Sanjay said that more than 3000 people have received free health services through free health care camps in last seven years.
