The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to observe January 5 this year as “Kala Dhan lao, Vada Nibhao” Diwas. On this day, party members across the State will raise slogans seeking return of black money to India and submit a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remind him of the promise made by him and yoga guru Ramdev to the public.
According to the Uttarakhand PCC media coordinator Surendra Singh Arya, on January 5, the PCC chief Kishore Upadhyaya will lead a march of party members from the party State office. Upadhyaya has stated, “All of us Congress members in Uttarakhand want to remind the Prime Minister and Baba Ramdev that during the lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi and Ramdev had promised to the people of India that if the BJP came to power the black money of Indians kept abroad would be brought back to India within 100 days of Government formation.
The black money thus returned would be used especially on the development of women and the youth, they had promised,” he said.
The PCC chief further said that the people of India had also been promised during the elections that after the black money was brought back to India from abroad, the share of each family would amount to Rs 15 lakh. In addition to this each family would also receive Rs 25,000 per month. After the return of the black money to India, the citizens of India would not have to pay any type of tax.
“Today the people of India are anxiously watching Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Baba Ramdev wondering when their promise regarding black money would be fulfilled. Both Modi and Ramdev have done little more than misguide the public during elections for political gains. This is not only a political crime but also blatant exploitation of the citizens of India,” stressed Upadhyaya.
