While Congress Mahanangar president was the first one to post felicitation picture of Harish Rawat on Facebook after the floor test, other party workers continued to greet the former CM Harish Rawat in anticipation of the party’s win in the show of strength that was held in the Assembly on Tuesday.
On the facebook picture was tagged “loktantra aur satya ki jeet par desh aur Pradesh wasiyon ko hardik shubhkamnayein.” (On the win of democracy and triumph of truth, we extend best wishes to all the State and the people).
A wave of cheer greeted the Congress workers in the city and they distributed sweets at party office near laltarao bridge and Jatwara bridge in Jwalapur.
Speaking to the Pioneer, Congress mahanagar president Anshul Shreekunj said, “Though Supreme Court would announce the final result but CM Sahib has won the trust vote with the support of 33 lawmakers which is two more than what the party needed for majority.
We have full faith in the judiciary of the country.” In a triumphant spirit, Harish Rawat told The Pioneer telephonically, “I had blessings of all the commoners and the women power with me, be it of the minorities or the smallest caste people which has helped me prove the majority in the House.
I thank my supporters Yash Pal Arya, Sarita Arya, Heera Singh, Shrikunj, to name a few, all the lawmakers, the youth, the Supreme Court and the people of Uttarakhand.
It is their power which keeps me going. The clouds of uncertainty will be over tomorrow when the result would be out."
State Congress media cell head Ambrish Kumar said, “BJP government led by Narendra Modi tried its level best to subvert democracy and damaged the democratic system. Things have been saved thanks to the judiciary.”
