Cong senses imminent defeat: BJP

PNS

BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad has advised State Chief Minister Harish Rawat, who has been overtly saying that their fight is with BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, to avoid making such comments against Modi; otherwise Congress high command may take disciplinary action against him.

“As we know that it is only prerogative of Congress high command to speak against Modi and except Rawat, no other Congress CM has made direct comment against him so far. Recently senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal has alleged that Assam riot has happened because of BJP. It seems they (Congress) are in utter desperation and sensed their defeat which is why they are making such absurd statements. He further said that Sibal, who is not practicing lawyer for the last 10 years, will start practicing in court shortly. He reiterated that Congress has realised its defeat that is why its leaders are making baseless allegations against BJP. For instance, they alleged that Assam riot happened because of BJP. “As we know that Tarun Gogoi is ruling in Assam for the last 14 years and even Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is representing Assam for the last 24 years in the parliament. Although in reality there was a clash between Bangladeshi and Bodo people in Assam and Congress-led state government failed to take precautionary measures.”

“Now they are talking about snoop-gate. In reality they are not finding any retired judge to enquire into it. Now they are appointing a judge, who retired around 18 years ago, to enquire into snoop-gate.” Prasad highlighted that BJP has incorporated Himalayan State issue in its manifesto. “In our manifesto, we mentioned about national mission on Himalayas, Himalayan sustainable fund and central university, which will be based on Himalayan technology. Our party talk about conservation of Himalayan.”

Sharpening its attack on Congress, Prasad said that when BJP-led NDA government formed, then national GDP was 4.3 percent and when NDA left, then GDP was 8.5 percent in 2004 but now GDP is mere 4.5 percent. “It all happened when our prime minister is an economist.”
