Cong hits Vijayvargiya for targeting Guv

PNS

Commenting on the Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya’s statement alluding to Governor having worked as a party worker during political crisis and stating that the situation would have been different in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s media advisor Surendra Kumar said that now Vijayvargiya is targeting a person occupying a constitutional post. He alleged that BJP promoted anti defection and horse trading earlier and is now even  issuing an open threat to the governor. He further alleged that by leveling allegation at the speaker, governor and other constitutional post holders “they have been terrorizing the people and by doing this they are displaying their disdain democracy as well”. “It seems that BJP has been working towards weakening the democratic system as part of a conspiracy. Whatever BJP leaders are doing is against the constitution and democratic principles,” said Kumar.

It should be mentioned here that BJP has been focusing on the purported anomalies regarding the assembly speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal but the court ascertained the speaker’s decision. “With this it is crystal clear that BJP is using propaganda to put pressure on the constitutional authority. With this they want to force the constitutional authority to give decision in their favour.  By doing this BJP is setting wrong precedent and acting as if they have lost faith in the democractic system which is why they want to impose their decision,” he said, while reiterating that people have understood the “political gimmicks” and will vote with it in mind in upcoming assembly election.

Talking about the state BJP chief Ajay Bhatt’s statement on lokayukta appointment, Kumar expressed surprise stating that Bhatt is also part of the selection committee. The committee had selected the person unanimously and Bhatt was part of it but now he backtracked from his earlier stance. By doing this he does not want to facilitate institution of effective lokayukta, which will check corruption,” he opined.
