The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay has hailed the Governor’s address at the start of the Assembly budget session for focus on the positive aspects of the State Government’s works. Appreciating the Governor Krishan Kant Paul’s address in the Vidhan Sabha, the PCC chief said that it had presented a balanced picture of works done in various sectors, challenges facing Uttarakhand and the role of Uttarakhand in the development of the nation.
Upadhyay opined that in addition to focus on unprecedented developmental achievements, the governor’s address provides a glimpse of all the positive aspects of State government’s works while also provides inspiration for progressive attitude for the future and setting new dimensions for development of the State. In a statement issued to the media, the PCC chief pointed out that the governor’s address also reflects the disappointment resulting from the Union government’s apathetic attitude towards Uttarakhand. Upadhyay states, “All members of the legislative assembly will meet the expectations from them as stated in the governor’s address. In addition to presenting the State’s achievements in economic, political, cultural, educational and geographical spheres, his address also presents the vision of inclusive development in a balanced manner.
The governor has done a praiseworthy work by presenting an evaluation of the State’s internal strength in front of the public. What is more praiseworthy is that the State Government is initiating an attempt towards facilitating prosperity for people of Uttarakhand according to the aspirations envisioned by the Statehood activists,” said Upadhyay.
The Union Government will be able to meet the expectations from it as conveyed by the governor, he added.
