Cong Govt engaging in false propaganda: BJP

PNS

The Congress Government of Uttarakhand was engaging in a false propaganda of development but the people of the State had realised this falsehood.

The spokesperson of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Balraj Passi said this while addressing the media persons here on Friday.launching a scathing attack on the State Chief Minister Harish Rawat for his recent statement in which he challenged BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for a debate on development, Passi said that Rawat got only few days to work as CM before the enforcement of model of conduct so his talks of development were hollow.

He said that the development record of Congress Government was so bad that Rawat was not in a position to debate even with any common person of the State on the issue. The spokesperson, who is also a former Member of Parliament, claimed that the party would win all the five seats of the State in the ensuing general elections and added that BJP had taken a big lead over congress in election campaigning.

“It’s been a fortnight since we have declared the names of our candidates but the Congress is still struggling to find its candidates” Passi said. He claimed that the top leaders of Congress are on back foot and are refusing to contest the elections as they have read the writing on the wall. Passi said that former CM Vijay Bahuguna in his recent visit to Tehri lok sabha area got a hands-on experience of the people’s resentment and refused to contest.

Blaming the State Government for ruining the economy of the state, Passi said that Government’s handling to the disaster last year was so bad that Uttarakhand now was having a very bad image both nationally and internationally. He also charged the congress government for ruining the religious tourism which is the backbone of the economy of the state.

The BJP leader said that the mismanagement of the State Government during and after the disaster triggered a massive exodus form the mountainous parts of the state and now the villages are empty with only few elderly people. Passi reminded that the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee created the state of Uttarakhand to make it strong in all respects so that migration from hilly areas is stopped.

The spokesperson of BJP Suresh Joshi and the convener of BJP’s state commerce cell Puneet Mittal were also present on the occasion.
