CM wants timely submission of DPR proposals

PNS

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat directed the officers concerned to make sure that the submissions of DPR proposal under NABARD are done within the stipulated deadlines. He instructed them, especially those engaged in the engineering department, to change their mindset and be practical while preparing plans.

He made this observation while reviewing the multiple proposals under NABARD of various departments on Friday. He asked the heads of the departments to assess the proposals in depth.

He was however annoyed with   the drinking water officers not being aware of the works the department has been doing and asked them to come fully prepared.   He also asked the chief engineers to go to the fields and check the feasibility of schemes. He also asked them to be more dynamic leaving behind the laidback attitude.

CM also directed the officers to prepare a model project based on rain water harvesting which can ensure water supply to a large population all the year  round.  He asked them to formulate a scheme involving cold water fisheries for Uttarakashi and Tehri districts. Agriculture, irrigation and fishery departments should make plans with integrated approach, he stressed.

The meeting apprised that NABARD has approved funding of Rs 750 crores, including Rs 250 crore of PWD, Rs 170 crore of irrigation department and Rs 135 crore of drinking water department. NABARD  has assured that more fund would be allotted as per requirements, CM was informed.
