In a bid to appease the unions of State Government employees who have been staging protest under different associations and hampering Government's day to day functioning, State Chief Minister Harish Rawat has appealed the employee unions that State Government expects them to do their duty and State is trying its best to find out means of meeting their judicious demands. He further said that strike is not a solution for any problem and a solution can be found through dialogue only. In view of this he has dedicated time slot for meeting the employees' union. Besides it, a cabinet committee led by Indira Hridayesh has already been constituted and chief secretary is consistently having deliberation with the union.

"We all are accountable towards the people so we should try our best to find out solution of their problems. With the strike of ministerial employees, the common man is suffering," said the CM.

As we know that your demands are pending before the State for long time and it is related to pay anomalies, different class and promotion. Now all organisations or associations are putting pressure over the State to solve their demand with immediate effect. He appealed them that you give some time to the state so that we would understand your grievance then find out appropriate solution of it. As we know that whenever we took decision in hurry then we committed mistake and it create another anomaly so we want to have foolproof solution so give us time.

He has been working with different employee union for the last 20 years but he did not find that three different associations have been doing protest for single cadre or went on strike after having some dispute with their officer. He reiterated that if you (employee unions) give me some time then he would be able to find out amicable solution of their problem.

As State financial condition is very challenging so we have constituted a committee led by Ex chief secretary Indu Kumar Pande and asked to give recommendation about how state can increase their financial resources. With this we would be able to ensure state development and employee welfare as well. He also stressed that we should also consider that Uttarakhand Government employee is getting higher salary than their Uttar Pradesh counterpart.

CM further said that Uttarakhand State has given us lot. He is eighth Chief Minister of Uttarakhand if state would have not incepted then we would not have got a chance to become chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Similar situation is with MlA and officers as well so our accountability towards people because state was formed for their welfare only.

He also said that their Government is committed to begin welfare schemes for all class of the society. “Even the State has also drawn a line for the State's development. We have increased old age, handicapped and widow pension amount Rs800 per month in place of Rs400 earlier. Even we are paying Rs400 per month as  pension to the deserted women, mentally challenged and pension to the priests and farmers having more than 60 years age”, he said. To ensure food for all the State has decided to implement State food security scheme in the State. Special food schemes will also be implemented forwomen and aged people. To provide medical facility for all State has decided to implement Chief Minister health insurance scheme, under which BPl and APl card holder will get cashless health facility. The State is also woking on ways to pay compensation to each disaster and accident victim. “Meanwhile we have initiated Teelu Rauteli special pension schemes in which women, between 20-40 years and physically handicapped get Rs800 per month as pension. To promote Aaganwadi workers and assistants State Government is going to launch Chief Minister Aaganwadi promotion schemes. Uttarakhand is paying highest grant to the gallantry award winner. Even state has increased the amount, which was being given to the beneficiary under Gaura Devi Kanya Dhan, now beneficiary gets Rs50,000 in place of Rs25,000 earlier. Even we have constituted fund for the promotion of folk artistes," the CM added.
